For over 250 years, our local area has played a significant role in shaping the history of our country.  Join us for an evening in which you will experience a part of this amazing story through the eyes of the Rising Sun Inn!

We’ll start with a brief cocktail hour followed by an informative and interesting presentation.  The evening is capped off with a delicious three-course dinner prepared especially for you by the owner and Executive Chef of the Inn, Fred Duerr.

The presentation and discussion, led by local author and historian Doug Shupinski, will begin by reviewing the origins of the Inn and its role during the American Revolution.  Next, the Inn’s past as a stop on the secret Underground Railroad prior to and during the American Civil War will be covered.  Finally, we’ll talk about how the Inn did its best to help locals deal with the era of Prohibition.
