JOB SUMMARY Courteously serves customers with a variety of banking transactions while maintaining job knowledge and proficiency.

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous Teller or CSR experience preferred; prior cash handling experience necessary
  • Good communication, customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Computer/systems aptitude and skill
ESSENTIAL

  • Carry cash box/coin bags (maximum 30 lbs.)
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Willing to travel to and work in other branch locations as needed
  • Provide exceptional customer service to meet the customers’ needs in every interaction
  • Attend required staff meetings and training sessions  
  • Operate standard business office equipment (desktop computer, keyboard, typewriter, calculator, telephone, fax machine, photocopy machine, mail machine) and view computer and calculator screens
  • Converse professionally with internal and external customers via telephone, e-mail and written correspondence.  All communication is guided by the HB Customer Service Standards
  • Adhere to all compliance procedures for regulatory requirements including BSA and OFAC and complete all required training
  • Adhere to established Bank policies including the HB Code of Ethics and Conduct
SPECIFIC
DUTIES
  • Manage and balance cash drawer daily
  • Process cash and non-cash items for deposit, verify cash and endorsements, issue receipts and process loan payments
  • Accept checks for cashing or paying, verify endorsements, identify customers, ensure validity and make change
  • Sell cashier’s checks and money orders
  • Cross-sell bank products and services and maintain good working knowledge of same
  • Open all types of savings and checking accounts and prepare related documentation
  • Make cash or check withdrawals and account transfers as requested by customer; refer account closure requests to CSR for handling
  • Perform daily and end of day balancing procedures accurately
  • Process night deposits/mail payments/telephone transfers
  • Assist with lobby coin machine
  • Assist customers with enrolling in Online Banking and first-time log-on
  • Maintain the security/internal control requirements of the Branch
  • Make customer introductions to the Non-Deposit Investment Products program
  • Support the service and sales climate of the Bank and participate in Bank product promotions
  • File branch work as needed
  • Perform special duties as assigned and make recommendations to Branch management about possible ways to improve operations
RELATIONSHIPS
  • Responsible to the Assistant and Branch Manager(s) for the fulfillment of job functions
  • Will have extensive contact with customers, the public and the community and conducts
         relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the Bank
  • May be called upon from time to time to participate in Bank or community events
